Enhanced Safety Helideck for Brisbane Hospital

Mater Hospital in Brisbane, Australia is currently installing an Astech® enhanced safety helipad on their rooftop for EMS.

Deepwater Jackup “Al Khor”

Astech helideck installed on deepwater jackup “Al Khor”. This vessel, belonging to Gulf Drilling Intl of Qatar was completed in Nov 2006 and has a 22.2m helideck designed for S92 and Bell 412 helicopters. The project was completed ahead of time and a second helideck for the same client has now been completed

Modular Spiral Stairs For Petrobras Semisubmersible

Maintenance stairs in semisub legs should ideally be easy to instal, maintenance free and lightweight.

Helideck for Agip Kashagan Project

Helideck for Agip Kashagan project: undergoing final installation; a 25m helideck suitable for a MI-8 helicopter and headed for the Caspian Sea. The entire support structure for this helideck is also in aluminium alloy and weighs only 10MT and was assembled in under seven days on site. The helideck had to be designed in two halves to allow the vessel to pass through the narrow lock to the Caspian Sea. Thereafter, the deck was assembled into its final shape. All walkways, supports, stairs are in aluminium alloy.

36m Helideck For Telekom Malaysia

We designed, produced and installed a 36m diameter aluminium helipad for Telekom Malaysia on the 62nd floor of their new headquarters tower in downtown Kuala Lumpur. This deck has an all aluminium support frame also and is cantilevered 22m over the side of the building. It made sense to go for a lightweight and maintenance free material. The helipad was installed in modules by lifting using a 2MT building crane.

Shell UK Orders Enhanced Safety Helideck

19.5m enhanced safety helideck for the Carrack QA platform. The deck is designed for a Super Puma and incorporates an innovative deck punching pattern designed to dissuade seabirds from landing on deck. The helideck was designed and built in Singapore and then shipped in containers for “lego” assembly at SLP Lowestoft. Among its innovative features is a novel deck punch shape which mirrors the random walk of a mature seagull, thereby deterring the bird from landing on its surface.

Nabors Aluminium Helideck

The US based drilling company ordered a 20m dia Enhanced Safety helideck to be installed atop living quarter modules on a work barge. The deck is designed in five modular sections with a quick disconnect arrangement and will be installed atop LQ modules. This allows the LQ modules themselves to be separated quickly.

Shell Iron Duke Bridge

A 40m X 6m all aluminum bridge to link two offshore unmanned platforms on a Shell Oil development in south east Asia. The bridge has two levels to tie in with the platform levels: the upper level carries heavy wireline equipment rolling loads (2MT) and the lower level carries walkways and piping. The bridge weighs only 20MT and saved approx 30MT by building it in aluminium. Two ‘wings’ of solar panels are attached to the top end of the bridge via aluminium supports.
